MEET JAMES MCMACKIN AND TOM ROESCH. TWO LOCAL DADS, LONG TIME FRIENDS AND VOLLEYBALL PLAYERS WITH A VISION: BRING THEIR LOVE OF THE SPORT TO THE COMMUNITY, STARTING AS YOUNG AS FIRST GRADE. CURRENTLY OPERATING AT THE KULL YOUTH CENTER IN OC AND LOCAL COURTS IN THE EHT AREA, THEY OFFER CLINICS FOR BEGINNERS TO INTERMEDIATE AND SPECIALIZED TRAINING FOR THE MORE ADVANCED.

“I am a parent of a 16 year old daughter who has been training with AC Volleyball for the past five years.
When she first started, she had no volleyball experience at all and was a true beginner. Mary and the coaching staff had two programs for beginners, both beach volleyball and indoor court volleyball.
These programs were great for my daughter, as it taught her the fundamentals of the game, but she also had so much fun, she wanted to continue year after year.
The program has multiple levels and she advanced up as her talents grew. The coaches did a great job of recommending the right levels for her to participate in so she wouldn’t be intimidated.
Not only did her skills get better, but she grew passionate about the game and made great friends along the way.

"My daughter saw this group practicing and wanted to join because she was interested in volleyball. She learned the basics and worked her way up through the skill levels. When middle school tryouts came around, a couple of coaches came in to talk with the girls, explaining that they aren't just looking for skill, but also coachability and encouraging teammates. She now plays JV for her high school team and still attends as many clinics as she can.
The coaches are supportive and really help the kids grow as players. They push when they need to and offer support when it's needed. They also offer beach volleyball lessons, which my daughter has really enjoyed and now looks forward to every spring and summer. Anytime Mary and the team can get the athletes together, she reaches out, which is especially helpful around tryout season for the high schoolers.
My son is now coming up through the skill levels himself, and he has so much fun that he often asks to stay and watch the older kids practice."
